We showcase Real Ales from our local micro-brewery – Naylors. Ales currently available at the Bear include:
VELVET 4.0%abv
A dark Mild, using lots of Crystal Malt to give a sweet, malty flavour, balanced by bitterness and aroma from Progress and Goldings hops.
BLONDE 4.3%abv
This premium blonde beer, brewed using Optic malt along with a touch of wheat, has citrus and spice flavours with a floral finish, provided by Hallertauer hops.
BITTER 3.9%abv
Cascade and Perle hops provide bitterness and delicate aromas, and pale malt and roasted barley give a pleasing copper-colour to this, a real session beer.
BLACK + TAN 4.4%abv
A distinctive beer, blending the recipes of the Bitter and Porter giving a rich brown ale. Very smooth and mellow.
CRAVENBRAU 3.8%abv
Brewed using lager malt and hops usually found in a lager, we have created a really light crisp ale with initial sweetness and subtle hoppiness.
In addition to the above real ales we stock John Smiths smooth, Stella, Carling, Fosters, Becks Vier, Hoegaarden and Gaymers on draught.
